Locally grounded
Every recommendation references real ZESA tariffs, real ZETDC supply conditions, real Zimbabwean labour and equipment lead-times. Not US benchmarks.
We are a Zimbabwean-registered electrical engineering and energy consultancy. Founded in 2025 by an ETAP-trained engineer with a 118-page MSc dissertation in industrial load-flow and power-quality modelling. We work with mines, mills, IPPs and large commercial operators to cut energy costs, certify captive generation, and pass regulatory audits.
AVEX GRID was founded to close a gap we kept seeing in the local market: large industrial operators paying for international consultancies that fly in, model the plant in software they don't understand, and disappear before commissioning. Or worse — paying nothing, getting nothing, and being penalised by ZERA or ZETDC for it.
We do the modelling in ETAP. We sit on the site. We write the report in language a board can sign off on and a lender can underwrite. And we stay through commissioning.
Devine is the founder and lead consulting engineer at AVEX GRID. He holds a BEng in Electrical Engineering (2025) and authored a 118-page MSc dissertation focused on industrial load-flow studies, short-circuit analysis (IEC 60909), and power-quality forensics (IEC 61000-4-30 / IEEE 519) for Zimbabwean grid conditions.

IEC 60909, IEEE 519, IEEE 1584, IPMVP, ZWS — every deliverable cites the standard it satisfies. Lenders and regulators read these reports without translation.
We don't sell hardware, contract installation, or take rebates from suppliers. Our recommendation is what we think you should do — not what we get paid to recommend.
We're a 2025 practice. We tell clients what we've modelled vs what we've commissioned. No invented decades of experience — just verifiable depth where it counts.
AVEX GRID is currently a single-engineer practice with a deliberate ceiling on engagement count so quality stays defensible. As demand grows we plan to add a senior electrical engineer, a measurement-&-verification analyst, and a project coordinator. If you're a Zimbabwean engineer with ETAP fluency or PV/BESS experience, get in touch.
